Common PSLE
Questions

Q. How is the PSLE AL score calculated?

The PSLE Achievement Level (AL) score is the sum of the ALs for four subjects. Each subject is scored from AL1 (90+) to AL8 (<20). A lower total score indicates higher academic achievement, with 4 being the best possible total score.

Q. What are the Secondary School placement streams?

Under Full Subject-Based Banding (Full SBB), students are posted to Secondary Schools through three posting groups (G1, G2, and G3), which correspond to the previous Normal (Technical), Normal (Academic), and Express streams respectively.

Q. How do Foundation subjects affect the PSLE AL score?

Foundation subject grades (A, B, C) are mapped to AL grades (AL6, AL7, AL8 respectively) for the purpose of calculating the total PSLE score used for secondary school posting.
